AIRLINE NEWS

Hitting Hong Kong and Singapore

Hong Kong’s a real hot spot and we’ve upped our flight frequency to four times a day to cater to the demand. With buzzing nightlife, fabulous shopping, thrilling architecture and beaches or mountain walks, it’s always a fool-proof holiday choice. Singapore too offers luxurious beachside resorts, ten minutes away from all the action of a vibrant city. From 5 June, flights to Singapore will be twice daily.

Cebu hub expanding

This year is an exciting one for Cebu with new flights being added on the Cebu Pacific path and the expansion of the destination as a major network hub. Ten non-stop domestic and six international destinations will be added, including Bangkok on April 6 – making Cebu Pacific the only airline to operate this route. Hong Kong, Singapore, Incheon, Pusan, Taipei (routes started 14 December) and Boracay are exciting additions to the hub.

Daily to Laoag, More to Macau!

As of February 29, Cebu Pacific will be flying to Laoag every day and, if you’re quick, you can buy a ticket for only one peso until the daily flights commence. Ms. Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Product explains, “the increase in frequencies on the Manila-Laoag services augers well for the tourism and economic development of Laoag.” It’s also a perfect spot for accessing UNESCO heritage site Vigan.

We’re also going to Macau daily, from 6 June, as our passenger load is growing fast. There’s so much happening in Macau that it’s a really popular recreational destination. Passengers can still reach Macau via Hong Kong, but this gives every Juan even more options – prices are from PHP1,499 one way.

More ATRs to access small runways!

We’re adding four more turbo-prop ATR 72-500 aircraft to our fleet, giving us a total of ten 72-seater planes and a 25-strong fleet in total. These smaller planes help us to bring our low-cost fares to more of the country’s 75 airports, particularly smaller ones like Caticlan (the service for which is starting February 29).

“We have hubs in Manila, Cebu and Davao and hopefully Clark,” explains CEB’s president Mr Lance Gokongwei. “All of these can be staging points for travel to what, up to now, have been largely inaccessible destinations,” he says.

New flights to Vietnam!

Hanoi

There’s a new country on the Cebu Pacific flight path and it’s the eclectic and beautiful Vietnam. We’re starting up two new routes to Hanoi and Hoh Chi Minh. Hanoi (left) is the arts and culture capital, where romantic old buildings sit on wide tree-lined boulevards, good food and original art can be bought and there’s the evocative Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, 1,000 years old. Hoh Chi Minh is embracing the rigors of modernisation and worth a visit fast, before it changes pace even further!

The lowest ‘Go’ fare to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh starts from PHP999 one-way, still more than 65% lower than the current fares for these routes.

The Manila-Hanoi service starts on 10 April, and is offered three times weekly, (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), aboard our A319 aircraft. The flight departs from Manila at 10:50pm, arriving at Noi Bai International Airport at 12:25am the following day. The return flight leaves Hanoi at 1:10am and arrives in Manila at 4:45am.

Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will begin on 11 April and will run every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Using CEB’s 150-seater A319 aircraft, the flight leaves Manila at 10:50pm and lands in the Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 12:15am of the following day. The flight back to Manila leaves at 1:00am and arrives at 4:25am, leaving plenty of time to explore the cities, and be back in time for work the next day!

Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for Marketing and Product announced, “We are very excited to be flying to Vietnam because we know that this is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in Asia. With the launching of these new international destinations, we hope to further encourage trade and tourism between the Philippines and Vietnam.”

CEB is proud to be the only airline operating a direct service to Hanoi. Visit our website, www.cebupacificair.com, telephone our call center at (02) 70 20 888 or drop into our ticketing offices and accredited travel agencies.
