WHERE TO GO Find a cozy table at Bo’s Coffee Club, a local coffee shop chain in Ayala Center
Cebu—the city’s most frequented shopping mall. On a rainy day, warm your hands against a cup of caffé americano and hold the sugar. Pair your brew with a piece (or two) of Bo’s heavenly silvanas – sweet buttercream pastries made of cashew meringue and cookie crumbs. On a hot day, try an Oreo or moccha froccino, one of the café’s ice blended beverages favored by non-coffee connoisseurs. Kids love the strawberry, chocolate and vanilla freeze flavors, teamed with a slice of chocolate or peanut butter cake. The café, which was established 12 years ago in Cebu, has become a bustling franchise with 30 branches serving up hot brew all throughout the country.

WHERE TO GO: Cake Club is an offshoot of the Diamond Hotel Kohikan Coffee Shop.
Instead of driving all the way to Roxas Boulevard for the charcoal-roasted Japanese coffee and ube ensaymada (a butter-rich soft bread treat filled with cheese and yam), head to the Power Plant Mall in Makati. Nestled between restaurants and shops, Cake Club is the perfect spot for a post-shopping snack. Try the iced café and baked cheesecake, then return for more tantalizing combinations. 2/F Archeology Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City, tel: +63 2 583 6127/305 3000 and 528 3000 (Diamond Hotel); www.diamondhotel.com

WHERE TO GO Ilonggos start their day right with hot coffee and a huge breakfast.
Come to Blue Jay’s Coffee and Deli at 6:30am, and inhale the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee. Take your pick from scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, grilled cornbread, waffles, and the traditional Filipino breakfast of garlic rice, fried egg, and your choice of beef, fish, or pork, to go with your cuppa joe. Regulars love the simple americano with an extra shot of espresso. The roast beef and German sausage sandwiches make for savory snacks, while the summer chicken salad will appeal to healthy eaters. Students and entrepreneurs frequent this coffee haven for casual meetings as well as for the dependable wi-fi service. Along Diversion Road in Metro Iloilo
