USE THE PRINCIPLES OF FENG SHUI TO HANDLE YOUR FINANCES AND (HOPEFULLY) MAKE MORE MONEY IN 2009

START AFRESH in 2009 and think of your finances in a different light. To do this, Dr Evelyn Lip, author of All You Need to Know About Feng Shui, shares some sensible feng shui practices and strategies to help make your money grow…

Maximize what you have

Use your talents, experience, knowledge, family support, perseverance and fortitude for maximum gain. These are perhaps adequate under normal circumstances; but during the next few quarters until mid-2009, one may need even more to succeed. A financial and economic crisis has erupted in many parts of the world. There is no shortcut to success. To maintain wealth and position, one has to be extremely cautious in investing one’s savings.

Don’t neglect these virtues, namely…

Patience, balance, harmony, prudence, discipline and courage. Patience is about finding the right place and time to do business. Balance and harmony refer to moderation. Use prudence in applying good feng shui to the home and office. The feng shui, ambience and environment of a place can bring success or failure to a business negotiation. When the yin and yang elements — complementary forces that underpin all things in existence — are balanced, positive qi (energy) revitalizes the participants and the place. Courage means you should not be indecisive when change is required for improvements at work and at home.

To achieve yin and yang balance and Harmony of the Five Elements, try adhering to the following guidelines:

● Do not under- or over-invest. When things are cheap, buy them; but sell them when they inflate.

● Harmony of the Five Elements refers to the diversification of investment, and researching before purchasing.

● Strive for a promotion if you are employed, or make a handsome profit from your business with diligence and good foresight.

● Turn a hobby into an income-generating venture or side business.

● Maximize cash savings with good investments. Achieve balance in your portfolio. Refrain from putting all your eggs in one basket.

● Manage what you do in the best way that you can, so you can succeed in all your endeavors.
