More ticketing facilities

Cebu Pacific (CEB) recently inaugurated its Galleria ticket office at its new location on West Lane, level one (beside Chowking and Metrobank). The launch event for the spanking new office was graced by Candice Iyog, VP for marketing and distribution; Marvin Cui, director for reservations and ticketing; Michael Shau, VP for airport services and logistics; and Charlie Manio, director for advertising and promotions. CEB also just renovated the Robinsons Place Manila ticket office, with its new Adriatico entrance, and opened more than twice the number of service counters — from eight to 20 — to serve its growing passenger base.

Boat for paradise

Thanks to the donations from all Cebu Pacific (CEB) passengers who supported Project Bright Skies, WWF-Philippines purchased a patrol boat for the Sablayan community to enforce No Fishing Laws in Apo Reef Park. Bright Skies funds a comprehensive climate change adaptation program by building ecosystem resilience, protecting dive tourism, sustaining food production and contributing to the economic development of Sablayan. Project price drop

Whoever said the state of the economy always brought bad news wasn’t logging on to www.cebupacificair.com. Since March 16, Cebu Pacific has been offering domestic to international flight connections with no surcharges. This move translates to fares slashed by as much as 15% or more than PHP1,000 per way. For example, the lowest “Go Lite” through fare available to Hong Kong from Laoag, Legaspi, Naga, San Jose, and Tuguegarao is just PHP3,299 one-way. The decision to drop prices intends to encourage more tourists to visit the Philippines and its wonderful attractions. “This will also help returning OFWs save more as they take connecting flights to their families in the provinces,” says Candice Iyog, VP for marketing and distribution. One of the perks of this arrangement is that passengers can enjoy the convenience of a baggage check-through service where they can check-in their luggage from their airport of origin and claim their bags at their final destination.

Osaka, here we come!

Cebu Pacific (CEB) has just secured approval from the Japan Civil Aviation Board to completely remove surcharges for its Manila-Osaka route. The airline is the only one granted such a privilege, resulting in a 46% fare reduction for this specific destination. The move is a result of a conscious effort on CEB. “We asked for the removal of the surcharges to make travel more affordable especially in these challenging times,” says Candice Iyog, VP for marketing and distribution. “This will also help us stimulate travel because passengers can now see the real out of pocket cost paid to CEB.”

A promotional seat sale fare of PHP3,999 one way to Manila-Osaka kicked it off. Afterwards, the lowest “Go” fare starts at PHP4,999. Log onto www.cebupacificair.com to book tickets.

First quarter storm

The results are in! Despite the global recession, Cebu Pacific carried 428,431 more passengers this year compared to last quarter, reporting a 28% growth. During the first three months of 2009, the Philippines’ largest domestic airline flew 1,970,004 passengers, as compared to last year’s figure of 1,541,573 for the same period. Of this total number, 1,590,759 were domestic passengers, up by 32% from last year’s 1,205,327. CEB’s international passenger traffic reached 379,245, also up from last year’s 336,246. The two main drivers of CEB’s growth are its continued fleet expansion and low fares. As of the beginning of 2009, the airline had a fleet of 25 aircrafts, and added two brand-new Airbus A320s and two ATR 72-500 aircrafts in the first quarter.

A sweet deal to reel in more business

Now, even the corporate clients of Cebu Pacific will have primary access to the airline’s reservations systems, enabling them to book their flights directly, change travel itinerary details and enjoy 30% savings. CEB will also extend a credit line of up to PHP1 million to companies that will sign up with the program. They will also have direct access to the airline’s route network consisting of 15 cities in Asia and 31 domestic destinations with direct flights from Clark, Cebu, Davao and Manila. CEB hopes to double the number of corporate and institutional clients and reach more than 500 accounts in 2009.
