WHAT’S UP THIS MONTH
HERE’S THE NEWS COMING OUT OF THE CEBU PACIFIC HEADQUARTERS
Fly to Osaka for PHP5,499
Thinking of flying to Japan anytime soon? With Cebu Pacific’s thrice weekly trips to Osaka and great value fares, it’s definitely a thought worth considering. CEB currently flies the Airbus service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, departing from Manila at 2pm, with the return flight leaving Osaka at 7.20pm. What’s more, the lowest possible year-round fare for this destination is JPY12,299 — that’s just PHP5,499!
“Most business and leisure travelers need more great value products, so we try to bring passengers to the Philippines with the utmost convenience and ease, for the least expensive fare,” says CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog. “CEB also flies to key ASEAN destinations such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, among others. This way, Osaka passengers can proceed to onward international destinations after Manila on the lowest fare alternative available,” she adds.
Passengers may book flights at www.cebupacificair.com or Air System Inc (tel: +81 (6) 6265 2535) in Hommachi Hua Tong Bldg, 5F 5-16, 4-chome, Hommachi chuo-ku, Osaka.

Cebu Pacific’s 40 Millionth Flyer Gets a Prize!
Rie Shimoda, a finance consultancy company division manager based in Tokyo, got a big surprise on her return trip from Manila. Her name was called as Cebu Pacific’s 40 millionth passenger, and she was met at the gate by CEB executives and flight crew who presented her with the distinction. Her prize? Four round-trip tickets to the CEB domestic or international destination of her choice.
Shimoda, who had spent time working in the Philippines five years ago, happened to be in Manila visiting friends for the New Year festivities. Apart from Manila, she was only able to see Dumaguete in the Visayas.
“I am very happy, and I will probably use my free tickets to go to Boracay with friends. I hear that it is very beautiful there,” says Shimoda. Asked about her thoughts regarding CEB’s Manila-Osaka flights, she spoke of travelling three hours to the Kansai International Airport from Tokyo so there would be less crowds. This, along with CEB’s trademark low fares, were major priorities in her travel decisions.
“What matters is that I get to my destination safely. With other airlines, there are too many accommodations,” she says, referring to the usual travel perks that boost the costs of air tickets.
Congratulations to you, Rie!
Wandering Juan Winners Awarded
Showcasing different CEB destinations and their trusty tsinelas, these Cebu Pacific travelers won roundtrip tickets to Singapore, Bangkok and Kota Kinabalu, as well as nifty gadgets and products from Wandering Juan Sponsors Canon and Travel Club. CEB and partner Mozcom heartily congratulates the winners, and thanks the hundreds who participated. “Through Wandering Juan, we were able to show how beautiful the Philippines is. Anywhere you go in this country, you will see something unique,” says Resty Uy, the Sights category winner of the recently concluded WanderingJuan.com photo contest.
Wandering Juan also shone its spotlight upon Michelle Salen and Karen Gonzalez, the winners for the People and Travelogue categories respectively.
Now’s the time to visit Bacolod
Now is a great time to make a trip to the old sugarlandia with its small-town charm, delicious flavors and friendly people. CEB currently operates a daily Airbus service five times each day from Bacolod to Manila, catering to those who want to return the same day. It also has a daily ATR 72-500 service from Bacolod to Cebu. The lowest possible year-round Go Lite fare for the Bacolod-Manila route is PHP1,088. From Bacolod to Cebu, it’s just PHP988. Check-in luggage requires additional PHP100.
“CEB is a great airline for business and leisure travelers due to its convenient same day returns. Our Bacolod-Manila flights, for example, begin at 6.30am and the last return flight is at 6.45pm except Mondays,” says CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.
If you’ve always used the bus or ferry, CEB’s flight alternative will get you to your destination faster at comparable fares. But book early to avail of the best, lowest rates.
Those without credit cards can book online at www.cebupacificair.com, and pay via CEB partner banks (Bancnet, Megalink, Metrobank, Robinsons Savings Bank and Banco de Oro). You can also call tel: +63 (2) 7020 888/ (32) 230 8888 or visit your travel agent.
